1. Overview
Social Broker respects your privacy. We collect only the information needed to operate the marketplace, prevent fraud, support deals, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
Identity documents required for KYC are collected and processed by Escrow.com, not stored by Social Broker. We retain verification status and reference results needed to operate deals.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you register and use Social Broker, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, organization name (for business accounts), account credentials, and profile preferences.
Listing and marketplace data
Sellers provide listing details such as platform, handle, asset description, pricing, and proof-of-control materials. We store listing history, offer activity, and operational review records.
Deal and transaction metadata
For active and completed deals, we store deal identifiers, parties, amounts, status, contract references, structured messages within deal rooms, inspection outcomes, and timestamps needed to coordinate the brokered pipeline.
Evidence and verification status
We may store screenshots, transfer confirmations, proof-of-control records, and other evidence uploaded through the platform. For identity verification, Escrow.com collects and holds government ID and related KYC documents. Social Broker stores verification status, completion timestamps, and reference identifiers returned by Escrow.com. We do not store copies of your identity documents.
Usage and device information
We may collect log data, IP address, browser type, device information, and session activity needed for security, debugging, and fraud prevention. If we deploy analytics in the future, this policy will be updated before non-essential tracking begins.
3. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the marketplace and deal workflow.
- Verify listings, coordinate offers, and manage the brokered transaction pipeline.
- Prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and protect users and the platform.
- Communicate with you about your account, listings, deals, and support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on contract performance, legitimate interests (such as security and fraud prevention), consent (for optional communications or non-essential cookies when used), and legal obligation as appropriate bases for processing.
5. Data retention
- Active account data: retained for the life of your account and up to seven (7) years afterward where needed for legal, tax, or compliance purposes.
- Deal evidence: typically retained for three (3) years after deal completion, or longer if a legal hold or dispute requires it.
- KYC documents: held by Escrow.com under its retention policy, not by Social Broker.
- Deleted accounts: personal data is anonymized or deleted within ninety (90) days where possible, subject to exceptions for deal evidence and legal retention duties.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest where applicable, access controls, and logging of access to sensitive data. Evidence files may be stored in secured vaults with additional protections.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as required by applicable law.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
To exercise these rights, contact legal@socialbroker.com or reach us through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Deletion requests do not override legal retention obligations. We may retain deal evidence, transaction records, and information needed to resolve disputes, comply with law, or enforce our agreements even after an account is closed.
9. International transfers
Social Broker may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Cross-border transfer mechanisms and regional privacy addenda will be finalized by counsel before public launch in regulated markets.
10. Children
Social Broker is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy and revise the last updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect may constitute acknowledgement where permitted by law.
12. Contact us
Privacy questions and data subject requests may be sent to legal@socialbroker.com or submitted through our contact page.
